I missed paying my tier on a private sim recently. The owner recalimed the land and returned all my things to my "Lost and Found" in one conglomerate prim. When I try to drag this to land (either sandbox or privately owned land) all i get is a message "[2:50] You cannot create plants on this land."
How can I seperate this conglomerate to regain the individual items ?

You will need to go to a BIG sandbox to rez them. What is happening is that the root prim for at least one of the plants in that conglomerate mess is attempting to rez beyond the edge of the sandbox, in someone's parcel.
So first, find a very large sandbox, and make sure it's one that will allow you ro rez a Linden plant. Then get near the middle of it, and try rezzing what got auto-returned to you.

... tried that ... all to no avail. Went to 3 sandboxes all over 40,000 sq yds ... my plot was 4096. Stood centre of sandboxes and got the same message.

Unfortunately, you need to have certain permissions enabled to rez Linden plants. By the sound of it, I'm guessing public sandboxes don't typically allow it. I haven't actually built in a sandbox in years myself, though, so I don't know.
I'd suggest you ask a friend to temporarily grant you temporary plant-creation rights on his or her land, just so you can sort out your stuff. If you only had a 4096 plot to begin with, there won't be all that many objects, so it shouldn't take long. When you're done, your friend can revert his or land settings back to normal.
If you don't have any friends who can help, you could try contacting a Linden liason, and ask if they can grant you plant rights in a Linden sandbox. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one, though.
Good luck.

Chosen, a word of advice - and I owe you after your many posts to me - sometimes the Linden plants from the next parcel will copy over to yours if you marquis and drag with the attention of moving your own objects. It's likely you took a copy of a neighbor's plant with your stuff if you did a wide enough selection and figured only your own stuff would get picked up.

Holocluck, thanks, but I'm a little confused. This thread isn't about me. I didn't pick up anything. I just responded to someone else's question.
In any case can't select Linden plants by dragging, even when I want to. I have to select them one by one, every time, which is really annoying. Is there a setting somewhere that allows it? The normal Select By Surrounding check only works for prims.
Also, how is it that you can take control of a neighbor's object, be it a plant or anything else? If you're able to do that, that's a very serious problem. Please document reproducible steps, and bug-report it immediately.
