I am curious why does sometimes objects allow next owner to copy and others allow everyone to copy.
I am bit confused here even after 3 months.
I made something I don't remember allowing all to copy but when I see it now it says allow all to copy.
I don't remember putting that option there.
Not always sure if what I see as owner as object everyone else sees.
Can anyone unconfuse me about this topic.
I like making copy objects for storage purposes but wondering if its dangerous doing this.

If you want the next owner to be able to make a backup copy but don't want him/her to share it with someone else, you should leave the COPY option checked but the RESELL/GIVE AWAY options Unchecked. That way the next owner will not be able to make copies and give them away without your consent. Also, you as the creator of an item WILL see different options than anyone else when editing the item. Remember, the creator name is one thing that will stay the same, no matter how many times the items has changed hands.

Allow anyone to copy means that anyone can take a copy from the rezzed object (Pie Menu > More > Take copy)
New owner can copy means that the owner can duplicate the object in his inventory or when rezzed.
As the creator you see the same thing and can modify everything.

Personally when I make objects or buy I prefer to have permission and give permission to copy and mod but no transfer, same with my art textures so that people can make back ups and store but not sell.
Yet there is occasionally I have run into glitches with objects that the owner does disappear and objects quit working or won't rez. Not sure why that happens.
I thought maybe the white hover box said copy was glitch. I will have to check settings now.
