not sure if it's an added available format for parcel media now (you can get snapshots of web pages now this way I'm told) but I do remember it being a request

No flash yet...

Correct Ivan, .swf = Macromedia/Adobe Flash player, and no CX, it is not available in SL yet, and doubt it will be available for some time to come.
The 1st step in the evolution of SL prim textures will be html on a prim, which will be static html applied to a prim from the inter-web. This will be phase 1, which will allow sl to be able host entire web sites in a 3d space, but just the absolute basics of a webiste, static text and formatting.
I believe image support will be included in phase 2 of html of a prim, eliminating some of the need tor uploading textures, altho I highly doubt this will come anytime soon, since LL generates lots of revenue from image uploads.
SWF support is hard issue to tackle for LL right now, I've read (i forget where) about the difficulties of integrating the Flash player into SL. LL has other issues/features to wrestle with first before implementing the Flash player, so I think you can put this idea out of mind, and think that this won't be happening in the coming year.
The meida stream supports Quicktime .mov file. If you want a flash animation playing through your parcel stream, open up the Flash content in the Flash dev prog and File>Export Movie to .mov file format, I've done it a few imes now with great results.
Hope this helps, and please, if anyone can correct any of my mentioned points, I'd love to hear, ~Chipely

I've read about it too, as well as chatted many times about the subject. There is swf considerations by LL, as well as a plan, it's just that the timeline for .swf implementation is not defined yet...but it is a thought.
Cheers
