Feature Request: Photoshop-Like "Hide Selection Outlines" with Ctrl-H (or similar) key combo.

For those of us who build, and even those of us who make our own textures, the "Selection Highlights" (those little blue and yellow outlines around selected prims) can sometimes really be in the way. Whether it's a matter of simply adjusting a texture to match up with another prim, or perhaps you're trying to do a complicated "skin-to-prim" colour match.. Sometimes you just want a quick and easy way to get those lines out of the way.

With the advent of "GLOW", these selection outlines have become rather oppressive at times.

Torley's recent foray into the realm of "Video Turtorials" reveals that there is indeed a method, whereby these outlines can be hidden, via settings in the Debug menu.

For those of us who build and texture and USE these tools on a daily basis, "open debug settings, change the setting, quit SL, log back into SL, re-select the prims you wanted to edit, make your edit, open the debug settings, change the setting, quit SL, log back into SL" is purely crazy talk.

Even still, there are something approaching half-a-dozen debug settings that appear to relate to Selection Highlights, only one of which seems to actually DO anything.

What is needed, or at the very least, desired, is a quick-command we can use WHILE selections are active, to "Hide/Show" the selection highlights "on demand", without all that tedious mucking about, relogging.

Please consider taking a few moments to vote for this feature request.

I haven't tried it. After reading the Jira, I guess it can. But it won't take effect until you relog. I agree, it would be VERY nice to have it as a live toggle. What I do right now is click on the part as if I'm going to move it... But that's risky, because there's the chance that I might just actually move it when I don't want to. (>_<;)

Voted. (^_^)y

Yeah, it's a real pain to do it through the Advanced menu. I end up doing just what you do, Imnot. When I'm working on a flexi skirt with a couple dozen overlapping panels, all those glowing selection outlines light the screen up like a Christmas tree. If I sneeze or have a golfer's yip at a bad moment, I can mess up the whole thing when all I wanted to do was click to see through the light pollution.
