When we initially bought our first 1024 there was grass on it. We just bought more land that is like bare rock. I know this is probably simple but how can I add grass to the land?

Only if you own the island its on I believe.. you can't do it for mainland without using prims. Though you could just put down like 3 Linden Grasses per little space and it would have *some* grass on it....

Only the sim owner can change this. But than he has to change the look of the whole sim.

Is the land connected?... if so, it might be as simple as raising or lowering the new land to match the first parcel.
If not, use prims... most of my parcel is granite and no amount of raising or lowering will work. Thank goodness for some of the smaller mega prims and the grass texture.
