I've searched the forums but can't seem to find out how to change and/or completely disable the particle stream that emanates from my hand when editing objects. the white flashes are driving me up the wall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can change it in preferences, Ctrl + P, I'll find out what submenu in a couple of ticks :)

Its under the general tab "colour my effects".

To turn them off completely (I'm sure there are lots of ways). You can either go to preferences again, Advanced Graphics, and turn Max Particle Count down to 0.

Or turn on debug (if it isn't already) by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D and then going into the debug menu, which will apear at the top (next to help), choosing Rendering, then Types, then choosing particles, which will uncheck it.

Make sure to put them both back how they were to view particles again :)

Thanks Zapoteth! I think that's the fastest response to a forum post on the web ever.

Also, while it's impossible to JUST turn off the edit particles, changing the color to a dim, dark one is - at least for me - a bit less annoying than bright white.
