On behalf of the fledgling PWA, I would like to propose the construction of a model UN, including a realistic central chamber, council rooms, and other famous rooms/items. Once completed it would also hold debates on real and derived issues. The objective is 3 fold. 1) Pump massive amounts of cash back into SL economy in the form of contracting and land purchases. 2) provide people with some great experience in terms of buidling on a large scale and detailing almost obsessivly small details. 3) Provide both an open forumn and a public learning environment about politics and current events.
It would be run much like the real UN. Maybe once a week, or once every other week, it would convene to discuss events. Councils would have to be convened to pass resloutions. Players would represent major nations, and would rotate in and out of positions of power (such as head of a council, and even head of the UN) and would be partly responsible for running these debates. Maybe this wont work, or that nobody would be interested, but at the very least, expand on the sucess of SL's very own George Busch (with his Washington Monument). Remember, just building the seats for event the smallest council could net you an impressive award.
