Hi. I just joined SecondLife, and so far I like it, but I want to make my avatar more anthro, like a canine or werewolf. Trouble is I don't know how. Can anyone help me? I'd appreciate it a lot, thank you.

There are some free Wolf AV's around (I think Odds+Ends Store in Telea has some). You could use these as a starting point, at least see how they're made.

Many people sell Wolf and Fox AV's, the Lost Furrest (sp?) certainly has some.

Try running a search for Wolf.

I'm not an avie buillder, but many avies are made from a number of parts:

1. the basic av
2. prims attached to the av for the head, tail, feet etc..
3. custom animations in the really good ones.

If you want a more human-like realistic wolf, look for Jakkal's Werehouse.

I second Argent's opinion, for a realistic werewolf anthro that is modable, (so you can pick it apart), the werehouse is the place to go. Just make sure you buy the modable version, so you can really see how it is put together.

I'm new and I went shopping today for my own avatar. The Forrest island has lots of places to buy furry avatars, and so do the fur nation stores/skymall. I've also heard people talking about tons of other places to buy avatars like the ones you are looking for. I ran a search and the list was huge!

Ah avatar help... I am also new to SL and just baught a wolf avatar from the werehouse and I'm having trouble with it. The av's look great on the pictures in the store and they are reasonably priced Takota. My problem is that I payed for it fine and it sits in my inventory under objects, but when I click wear it just puts a cube over my head with the preview picture on all sides of it. I think I'm doing something wrong and could anyone in this thread help me out?

Dustin, I imagine your outfit is inside the cube with a preview on it. Place the cube on the ground and then remove the pieces from it's inventory. You should be able to look through it's inventory by selecting the tab after editing it.

If you place all of the pieces in a seperate folder you can then drag that folder on top of your avatar to "transform". ;)

To be a bit more specific, your avatar is 'packed' in that box. Place the box on the ground, right click it, and select open, (at 3 o'clock on the wheel. A new window should pop up that lists the contents of the box. These contents are the attachments that form the avatar that you bought. As Amber said, in your inventory, under clothing or body parts, I'd make a new folder named wolf or somesuch, and then drag the contnets to that folder. After the contents are in your inventory in a seperate folder, you can drag that folder onto yourself to wear the entire AV, or you can double click or right click each individual piece in your inventory and choose wear to put them on.
As a side note, many boxes, including the freebies that you may run into, are packed in this way, and it isn't unusual for people just beginning to have a hard time unpacking these boxes.

Thanks for the help. I got the "box" unpacked and on now. Everything looks okay seems to be working.
