Hello,
I looked in the knowledge base for an answer to my question but couldn't find one.
Is it possible to convert a digital photo of two humans into a texture resembling two avatars? For example, could i go into Photoshop and change a .jpg into another format that resembles more of avatar? I dont want to hang pictures of humans if i rent a place on SL, that would be too weird.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Umm... I think this is probably best put into the tecturing forum.. but anyway
With it still being an image.. so you just want it to look like a picture of avs? (BTW people have pictures of RL things all the time)
I'd say use some filters in photoshop or something.. you could make it look like a painting, but avs would be kinda hard without actually making avs that look like them and taking a snapshot.

Any help would be much appreciated! Seems like what you want to do is make the background of your picture (everything except the humans) transparent, and then import the tga (or png) file with the transparent background into SL. Then simply apply that texture to the front and back of a very thin flat panel the size you want. There are a few tricks to get rid of the white halo that sometimes shows up around your selection, and the texturing forum has a ton of info on how to make the background transparent. Hope this helps. Doug

Thanks to both of you for your help. I've made a pretty cool looking human/avatar hybrid. I have one more question any info will be much appreciated.
Once i have the picture made, i want to hang it in the store i rented. I've looked at the Second Life Wiki and here in the forums but i do not know how to "hang" the picture on the wall of my store. Thanks for any info!

Just make a box, put the texture on it, place the box where you want it.
Extremely simple. That's pretty much how everyting works in SL if it doesn't need a script.
Welcome to SL.
