For some reason, even though an object I've just built has been linked while i'm working online, when I relog, it is unlinked. I can't figure out why. Any advice?

The times that has happened to me it has been prim rot of the root prim. Replacing the root prim solved the problem for me. Your mileage may vary.

It might not be the root prim at fault, though most often it is.
A simple solution, if your parcel can manage to support double the prim count: Select ALL the prims that are supposed to be in the linkset. Drag-copy that group upward, which will leave a duplicate where the original was. Delete the original set that you just dragged away. The new copies of all the prims should be able to be linked.
If prim allocations prohibit the above approach, select small groups of prims and see if they will link. When you come across a small batch that WON'T link, there is a bad prim in that set. Either drag-copy that batch, as above, or try different combinations until you find the one prim in that batch that will not link to anything else. That is the one you must drag-copy.
