Why can I do it sometimes and not others?

I want to make "smaller" versions of some larger items I have and the easiest way would be to resize. It will not let me do it. ugh...suggestions?

Ok if it won't shrink down that means one of the parts has one of its dimension at 0.01 which is the smallest one of the dimensions can be. Sometimes I find it easier to build big and shrink but that dimension problem often pops up. I have started building things small to begin with, but it can be frustrating working with small things. Hope this answers your question.

OK you asked for a hint and I forgot to tell you. Try unlinkin the object and searching for the offending prim. Then increase the small dimension abit larger then re linking it and shrinking it down. Continue this process until its the size you want, or just start over again but this time build it small. Sorry I couldnt bring any better news, maybe someone else has some better ideas.

thanks beta...but it shouldn't have a prim that small. Its a gazebo and a fountain.
They are pretty big to begin with.

I will check it out tonight and see if I screwed something up.. *looks innocent* not like I would ever do that. har har.

A couple of times I've started to freak out because I couldn't resize or otherwise edit an object, then finally realized I had at some point checked the Lock box on the Object tab. Kinda like thinking the TV is busted when it's not plugged in . . . doh!

Three possible explanations:

1. One or more of the prims is already too small on one or more dimensions, as Beta said. This is the most likely explanation. For the gazebo, this could easily be the roof, which is probably very thin. For the fountain, this could be the water surface if it has a pool at the bottom, also likely to be very thin.

2. The object is locked, as Kim said. Makes ya feel silly when you do stuff like that, but we all do it from time to time.

3. You don't have mod rights. If these are items you bought, then you may or may not be able to modify them, depending on what permissions the creator granted you. Look and see if "you may modify this item" is unchecked in the editor.

Nothing is locked on there. I already thougtht of that one. lol

These are items that I created. I wanted to make them model size in hopes of getting a vendor that will do a temp rez on the object or something along those lines.

Here is a link to a pic of them I posted over the weekend.

It could be something is as small as it can get probably in width. The prims for the ivy is very thin so I am sure that is probably what it is.

I'll let you all know after I log in tonight...thanks for the input :)

yep it was the width of the ivy. I took off the ivy around the top and it worked just fine.

Thanks for the tips everyone :)
