So it's nearing 3am and I think I'm losing my mind.

I have made a hat and am trying to attach it (either to spine or chest since hair is on skull attachment).

Each time that I jump off the pose stand after putting it into place, it's on top of my head, but it's not following my AO or my movements. It's going all over the place :(

How do I attach a hat to where it stays on the head and stays in place when you're AO is on, etc?

S.O.S!!!

Thank you!

Attach to ear or nose, edit into place, nps.

Actually, attaching to just about any item located above the neck would work (except the eyes) so if you want to attach it to skull, nose, chin, left ear, right ear, mouth, whatever, you can. It will follow your av's head's movement like it should.

Now, if you attach to the eyes (and I've not tested this) I believe when your av looks right, but doesn't move it's head, the hat will move to look right also. Again, that's not tested, but it would make for a funny to give a hat attached to that point to a friend. :) They probably wouldn't notice right away. But then, I'm a bit devious with my friends, all in good fun.

Spine or chest won't work at all for a hat. I use the left ear for my hat attachment point on the ones I make and sell. That way it doesn't conflict with most prim hair, and even works with most furry avatars. Skull, nose and mouth tend to be used for prim avatars a lot. Eyes move too much, and so does mouth to some degree. Ears are stable.

The exact choice of attach point would probably depend on your primary audience:

- female (non-prim avies): I'm always quite annoyed when I buy something and it decides to take one of my earrings off.. if it's not an earring (or doesn't naturally belong on/around the ear), do not attach it to my ear...

- male (non-prim avies): most of the head is probably fair game?

- prim avies: *points to Ceera's post*

If you sell C/NT then the easy solution could be to simply include two copies with different attach points. If you sell NC/T you could either have two prims selling either version, or make it fit for your primary customer base and take the chance of annoying those it conflicts with.
