First, I am NOT an experienced builder. I am just experimenting here.
That said, here are some snapshots of some islands I have made using Backhoe (GREAT TOOL!) The theme is islets and a volcano. A couple are islands around a volcano, and the others are Lost Paradise inside a huge volcano. A couple of frineds are awaiting the delivery of their islands  |

I, too, have been playing with Backhoe, and YES, its a Great tool! I've also been playing with "RPGMapMaker" as a layout tool for new islands. Its 2D, but I'm using it to figure out how much land-area is needed for different sorts of buildings, etc. (That's hard for me to visualize in Backhoe) http://fmteau.club.fr/rpgmapmaker/rpgmapmaker.htm |

Ah Backhoe, lucky mac users.
Im waiting for an island to get here and ill need a few mountains, to the OP- would you be interested in creating me a raw terrain file if I can`t get it decent looking by hand? I`ll pay ya. let me know. |

Looking for help creating an Island raw file

Hello everyone, i have been trying for weeks now to create an island raw using a picture that I have. I wish very much to have an island in the same shape as the graphic in the picture with mountains, caves and forests as the details of the graphic. I would appreciate very much someone helping me with this. If you can help without charge, and have nothing better to do, please contact me in world or post reply here. You really can't do caves. The closest would be to have a trench and cover the top with prims.

I'm in a similar situation.
I've done 2D grayscales in the past but haven't any idea of how to use/do a RAW. I've read the land owners guide, but without any particular examples or tool to use to work on them its difficult to understand how it works. Any pointers or places to go? Nick |
