You don't know how to build, and you're building a whole sim? I suggest you experiment on what you want to build, and try building it. The best way to learn building is by doing. It takes time to learn the building tools, and one can't just be told how to do this or that.

really simple witch--- sphere for head, cone for nose, cylinder and cone for hat, a sculpty for hair is best, but not required, umm....another sphere for torso thats been stretched, with a cone thats been cut down a tad for skirt, cylinders for arms (2 each, maybe with sphere elbows), sphere hands with a cylinder or sphere thumb as i said, skirt is a cone, feet maybe spheres kinda oblong-y....broom is just a cylinder with a cone for bristles (textured right if you can)
cat... two spheres and a cylinder for body, cylinder adn two cones for head, with tiny cyliders for wiskers
cylinder legs, sphere feet if any (Maybe 4 spheres arranged like a paw), and tail would be a cut torus, stretched and made thin.
Thats basicallly what you need for each, really, REALLY basic models. However, if you are ne to building, and trying to make sculptures and such already, you are way over your head, especially if helping build a whole sim. Either way, if you ever need help building in game, IM meif I'm on, Okiphia Rayna, I'm always willing to help
Oh yeah, also, if you are being paid for this, and using someone elses designs, or using prims they gave you coords for, i honestly hope you get fired... you're stealing designs for profit at that point, and thats just not nice.

It sounds like you could benefit from walking thru the self paced building tutorials at the Ivory Tower of Primatives in SL. It will teach you all the basics about how to build up a more complicated object using the basic prims.
