Apologies if this has already been done but I'm trying to get a bit of support for a JIRA feature request I've made here:

Basically I want to be able to specify different map types, like shadow, bump, environment, as secondary textures to the main one, so that I can get this kind of effect:



At present I have to add extra prims and apply the textures to them, and I just don't think it's reasonable to do so. I want to have an extra couple of pages that are just like the standard texture controls, but for them to allow me to specify exact bump, shadow, lighting and environment maps, if not more.

And why not? I figure that these extra maps will be able to be loaded AFTER all the main textures have so they're not slowing loading of the standard textures, and there could be a setting in the preferences allowing for a user to turn them on or off if they chose so it won't impact performance on a machine that can't handle them properly.

I'm sure this has been asked for many a time and if there's a JIRA entry for it already that I've just missed then point me in the right direction and it gets my vote. If not, and you like the idea, would you please vote for it for me?

It's somewhere that I just play around, trying new things out if you like, so it'll probably look different to how it does now as I try new lighting effects etc
