i'm not really happy with the rope necklaces i make eight the side dissapears if i use a hallow cylinder or it look inverted if i use the hallowed out inside of a torus any sujestions

Is this a matter of not being able to make the prims thin enough, and my tiny prim ideas not working so great? In which case, this can be a tough one, but have you played with Profile-Cutting your prims (and further cutting with some hollowing), or tried making sculpties? Regardless it's never easy to make a necklace hang realistically on your neck.
