Well, HOPEFULLY I didn't make any mistakes, but here is a tutorial I wrote on how to make animated sculpts using 2K Suisei's Sculpty Maker 2.1

Awesome - thanks for making this tutorial, Virrginia! Gonna try this out as soon as I can. I think i can finally make some spiffy growing plants with this newest version of 2k's Sculpty Maker - and your tut should save me lots of time.

Oooh! great tutorial, Virrginia!.
The only thing I would do differently is instead of 'Load Tool' I would use the 'Clone' button to create a new frame. So I would make my first frame then 'Clone' and 'Append' it and as a new frame and modify it slightly, then 'Clone' and 'Append' the modified frame etc. Great tip about applying sculptmaps to faces of a hidden cube!. I've gotta try that!. |

Thanks, both of you
I think I lost track of how many times I said "look at Vlad's tutorial" or "download this from 2K". The bit about the clone button is a great idea, and I added it to the workflow in the tutorial. I will have to plead newness to using subtools, because the more I read about them, the more I realize that one uses the clone button all the time. Now, the next thing I am wondering about is...how hard are multipart animations? Could we use Zbrush to coordinate TWO (or more) sculpts to animate together? _____________________

Additional addendum to the tutorial (and a huge thanks to 2K Suisei who figured out what was happening with a complex animation I was making):
When using SubTool Master to merge subtools for export, it is VERY important to give each subtool a different name. If two tools have the same name, only one will be exported! If you are using the "clone" function to create copies of the tool, it will automatically give each one a new name (CuteSquid #1, CuteSquid #2, etc). _____________________
