Easier way to subdivide land?

I'm trying to subdivide my property. As far as I know the only way to do this is to drag the cursor select the land and select subdivide. I'm finding this fairly cumbersome because my land relatively large and it's on a steep hill. I'm wishing there was a way to just automatically divide it into a number of evenly sized parcels.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

There is only one way to easily subdivide land if you own a complete sim. (Private island), by uploading a '.RAW' texture with parcel info. (knowledge base article )

I don't think this applies to your situation though, so i'm afraid you're stuck with the inworld land tools to divide and parcel up land.

It a real bummer that there isn't a easier way to do this. I ended up breaking up my land into lot of really little blocks that were easy to manipulate with the inworld tools and then stitching them back together with join to get reasonably sized plots.

My whole goal with subdividing the land was to break up the land I bought into subplots and try to sell those off. Unfortunately, even if I get my asking price the result will be a loss of US$39.

I've written up a complete summary of the experience on my blog at www.secondlifehowto.com under the heading "How Not To Be A Land Baron".

Uh, so have a higher asking price?

That's a good suggestion Chosen Few. Would you like to buy a 1024 m2 plot of land for L$20/m2? Special price, just for you.

Seriously, I guess I would charge a higher rate, and there are plots for sale at L$20/m2 and higher, but the mid price for this type of land appears to be about the L$19/m2 that I'm seeking.

I don't know how you would do it but would renting be bit more profitable.
If you sell the lots you won't have the same control over them. Mainland lots I thought didn't have covents or am I wrong?
