Is there a way of copying an item (set of prims) but as a mirror image? I am making a fairly complicated pair of boots with buckles (on outside of the lower leg and other ornamentation) and it would save sooooo much time if I could copy as a mirror image - so, techniques? scripts?

You can't do it for linked items, unfortunately, but you can mirror each prim one a time. Search this forum for "Prim Mirror" by Jeffrey Gomez. It works very well. It takes a while to do a lot of prims, obviously, but it's still faster than the alternative.
