HI! I've just made a bath with water that at the touch of a button drains away and refills. the only problem I have is that I cant link the bath and the water and keep the effect. So when I move the bath, the water stays in the same place, but still moves when i press the said button.
I've used the scripts from a hot tub that i found in my inventory. I think it was called super hot tub 1.1? with steam and bubbles. Some of you might know it.
Is there a cure for this? is there anybody out there how know of a simple fix or can help me fix this?
maybe a script i can inc in the build?
Im more than happy to pay somebody to help me fix this problem.

Script the tub so it can rez the water or de-rez it.
The water would be an object in the inventory of the tub. A 'fill tub' command rezzes the water plane, as a seperate phantom objsct. A 'drain tub' command de-rezzes the water plane. Use whispers on a non-zero chat channel to communicate between the tub and its water.

You could link the water and the tub. Then you could set the water transparency to not show or show via a script. It is possible to change the water texture and its transparencey via a script. Also possible to raise/lower the water level, but probably a bit trickier, you could check out sliding door scripts for this.
When Ceera said "derez" she probably meant for your script to call llDie (); a script can't take an object back once it has rezzed it.

If you link the water to the tub, it can't be phantom. So anyone attempting to use the tub would stand on the surface, like it was ice. I suppose a pose ball could force them to penetrate the surface, but it's far better to keep the water as a separate object.
And yes, I was referring to using llRezObject and llDie, to create and eliminate the water prim.

I have the same issue with my Virtual reality Room -- it's big (largest one is 50x50x50 m) so linking everything is not an option, and the prims must adjust very precisely for the effect I look for to be achieved (shameless plug: come and see it by looking for "VRR" in search places or by using thelinks in my profile ) What I have is the main object in the room shouting its position over a channel ever 30 seconds or so. The walls are listening on that channel, and readjust themselves to the correct position relative to that object when they get the signal. If they don't get the signal for a given time, they just erase themselves from the world (no more lost prim, yay). A bit cumbersome, but, really, I don't think there's a way around it.

One thing you can do if you dont want to mess w/ all of the scripting is to set up and link the tub parts together w/o the water. Then rez and position the water where you want it. Click off the tub to say the ground or take a step backwards. Now click to select the tub, push the shift key and click to select the water. Now both the tub and the water should be temporarily linked so you can move them both together. I use this when moving furniture, I select all the pieces and the coffee table and whatever else and move and rotate it all over my land, its rather fun, and soo much less work than moving furniture in RL

The super hot tub script was written so that you could move the tub and the water would go with it. Contact me in game and I'll give you one that works.
