I'm having a problem with Tokoroten, looks like a bug. Simple geometric convex shapes are distorted at the convex edges on the top and bottom surfaces. Seems like it must be a bug in the program. I get the same problem with a number of convex shapes; here's a simple example. This is how it looks in Tokoroten: Here's how it looks in SculptySpace (and in SL as well): As you can see, the corners on the inside are distorted at the top and bottom surfaces. Here are the text and sculpt map files: http://learjeff.net/forums/SL/M2.txt http://learjeff.net/forums/SL/M2.tga
BTW, this isn't the shape I'm really trying to create, just a simple example of the problem.
Thanks for any help![/img][/img]

Thats basically just an issue with how Tokroten works... you can think of it as folding a piece of a paper in the shape you have made, and then pinching the top and bottom sides together, so you'll have those pinching faces overlap anywhere the profile is too concave.
You can fix it manually in Wings by scaling two or three rows of vertices around the height axis a bit, then flattening them along the height axis, then nudging the original vertices into position so that you don't have any overlap.

I ran into this a while ago when trying to make a wall section with a top cap. The end of the extruded shape brings all the points together at the center of each end. his distorts the end somewhat and can cause 'spiderwebbing' where a thin streached edge crosses the concave ends.
What Daniel mentioned should fix it, once you get the hang of Wings.
