Sculpt map broken after relog

I've been playing with sculpties, lately in wings3d- and finally made something I really like... But it is doing something strange.
I used wings3d to make it, spent many hours getting it just right.. Uploaded and applied it, and it was perfect. made a texture for the object, finished it up...
I then log off.. when I logged back on, it had a chunk sticking out of it.. I tried re-applying the sculpt map, which didn't work so I rebuilt it in wings3d, uploaded the new improved sculpt map after carefully checking to make sure there was nothing out of place.. all was good, then i relogged... and it happened again. in the same place!
I tried rezzing a new prim, applying the same sculptmap and it has the same flaw.
Cleared cache in case it was just my viewer... no luck...
I havn't been able to have someone else have a look in world yet, to be sure its not just my viewer, as none of my friends are online at the moment..
I will take some picures of the flaw when i log back on, and put them here but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas on whats going on here, I would appreciate any help!

ook i don't know how to post images here or even if you can.. but the links are here anyhow :)

The unbroken sculpt rezzed in the beta grid in order to get a pic...

the broken sculpt... it looked like once vertice has been dragged out the side of it!

closer, different angle..

I think there are 2 possibilities I can see, a viewer problem-- try the most recent Release candidate from the downloads page, but this doesn't look like an LOD problem.

I Don't use wings so am not sure what modelling techniques you used etc.. one thing I have noticed is sometimes SL will try to fill in the faces where it thinks there should be one, even if in the 3d app you have squished and edge, there are some angles that will not work once uploaded into SL.

As for your log off-not working scenario.. maybe you just missed it the first time, or were zoomed out on the sculpty which would take it down a level in LOD, possibly hiding the problem. A good tool is SculptySpace which lets you preview your sculpty in almost identically to the way SL displays them. You may see the protrusion in that program also.

I definitely didn't just 'miss it'... I built onto it, added a texture etc etc etc... So I viewed it up close, from afar and from many angles lol... The pic i supplied is one that i rezzed fresh, to avoid distraction by the textures and other objects with it.
And the version I rezzed in the beta grid, to get the 'unbroken' picture... Well I examined that closely to make sure it didn't have the flaw.
I'm in world now tying to get someone to have a look to make sure its not just me lol.. and am downloading the latest RC also lol

update - had a friend take a look.. she couldn't see it so guess its just me, my viewer or my computer.. lol.. need a new computer!

This is a known bug, actually. If I'm not mistaken, it's an error in the way your viewer pulls the texture from cache. If you clear your cache and relog, it should take care of it, at least for a while.
