ok this is gonna seem stupid but i am losing my mind..
i created a complex sculpt and imported into the beta grid and it looks great, but now i want to texture it.. i want to color only some faces so i can black them out so in world the color can be changed on everything but the faces i color black.. is there any way to color all the faces i want black in wings then export/save a texture?
what i tried to do was use the UVmap and set colors to parts/faces then save the map but i think im screwin up somewhere, if its even possible :/
thanx in advance Lost in Texture Hell, lol

btw i was sorta tryin to follow this tut, but im thinking it doesnt apply to sculptys http://homepage.mac.com/ycarry/Wings/Pencil/Pencil3.htmland when i go to continue in the UVmaping window then to sphere (i figure that is what i started with so it should be right) it gives me "i cant sphere/cyl map this type of chart cuts" if someone tells me its imposible ill give up, but this photoshop, then save, then refresh in wings to see if it looks right really sucks, lol

In SL, all sculpties have the same UV map (not taking into account the slight variations for the different sculpt types). Assuming you started with one of the templates included with the exporter, or imported the sculpty from a .BMP file, you have the correct UV map. If you don't have the right UV map because you've tried to create your own, export your model as a sculpty and re-import the resulting .BMP file. The import process will create a proper UV map for it. If you want a tutorial, see Natalia Zemlova's http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/2007/06/day-279-sculpted-prims-tutorial-part-4.html. Also, Ty Gould did a very nice video tutorial that you can see at: http://www.virtualworldsvideo.com/item/NTVVMRR42L0TX9KF. But keep in mind that Ty did this tutorial before the sculpty plug-in created UV maps automatically. So when following Ty's, you can skip over the first five minutes, where he shows how to get and attach an appropriate UV map. Start paying attention when he opens the Outline window and makes the bitmap External. As for periodically saving your file in PS and then refreshing the view in Wings to preview it, it may suck, but that's just what you have to do. If it really bothers you, you can always buy a commercial application like ZBrush that does it more slickly.
