Hopefully it's ok to post this here, but I just wanted to pass on an available discount for the current version of Zbrush from Content Paradise:

http://www.contentparadise.com/us/user/pixologic_zbrush_31_windows_product_41823

It's about $60 cheaper than from Pixologic's web site. I was trying to swallow the cost as it is and this pushed me over the edge to buy it. More sculpties to the people! :D

(I work for neither company.)

Wow still a lot of money unless you really are planning to make a LOT of money from sculpties. Is there a trial to try out?

Here you are:

http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/trial/download/

Be warned, it's EXTREMELY addictive. Zbrush models differently than all the other programs I've seen in its price range and below. While it has deformations (select area, expand, inflate, stretch, etc), it's the ability to use various brushes right on the object to carve it into shape that makes it so intuitive (to me, at least). It's very much like modeling with virtual clay.

The price? Well, it's still much less than other professional 3D modeling programs like Modo, let alone Maya. But thirty days is more than enough time to get sucked in.
