Hi, not sure if this is right for the build forums but I thought you builders would know - is it possible for a building to straddle 2 private sims that are adjacent on the grid and owned by the same owner?
Thanks much! Mysti

I've never tried it, but I cannot see why not.
Certainly, if the two parts of the building are not linked, it will work. The only gotcha I can see is whether a large linked object can straddle a sim boundary.

The problem you get is trouble with being able to walk across the sim boundary without falling through the floor. Extra prims under the floor on both sides seem to help a little.

I guess you can. The welcome area in Ahern is a structure that straddles four sims. People do tend to walk into the ground when crossing between sims but that usually happens when there's too many people or any kind of lag.

I've seen it, there was a military base of some sort near my land that was in 2 sims, looked a bit funny when one sim goes down though

As long as the walls and objects don't cross over - split the walls joining the sims - I see no difference from simply owning 2 sims. Though be sure to have signs that say where the line is so people don't freak out . - Jolan

Hard Alley is like that.
Also saw a casino like that down in the new sims on the southern continent
