Building While Attached to Avatar?

I am not sure if this will make any sense. If you were to attach a single prim to your body can you then build off of it? I have tried but it always wants to give me the options for the avatar like "profile" "appearance" when I try to right click on the prim. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not possible?

You can edit prims that are attached to your avatar, but to add new prims linked to it you'd need to detach it.. Try opening the building window using the button down the bottom, and clicking the prim thats attached..

That sucks. I have a lot of trouble after I make something getting it to line back up on my avatar as it should be. But thanks for the quick answer anyway.

I'd recommend snagging yourself a 'Posing Stand'. It's something you can find almost anywhere (and don't buy one, there are places to get them for free)

They are a single prim (usually) item that you can rightclick and Sit upon, it will hold your avatar floating above it in a spread eagle position so that you can literally build things and then move them overtop of your limbs in advance while building. When done, simply pick up and wear the items.
