How do you make a curved ramp?

Hi - I'm talking about a stair-like ramp from one floor to the next.

What shape do you start with? I've tried bending cylinders and blocks, but couldn't get it to work.

For a spiral ramp, try a Tube with a skew of 0.8, X hole size of 0.05 and 1 revolution. Then play around with the sizing.

Hi, Eli!

I guess it could be, but that's more like a screw shape that what I was thinking. Maybe the same shape or technique is behind both? I have no idea.

What I was picturing is one prim. Imagine that you took a very flat cylinder, hollowed it out 50%, path cut half of it away. At that point, it would look like a thick semicircle lying flat on the ground.

Then imagine that you grab one end of it and pull it straight up into the air while the other end is stuck to the ground.

Now you have a surface you can walk up.

Of course, you can't do what I just said - at least I think you can't. But I've seen these curved ramps in buildings around... if no one knows what I'm talking about I'll go take a picture of one.

Use a tube with a twist, and make the hole small.

Use a torus with small x dim and large y,z dims - say 1,5,5 for example, rotattion 0, 90, 0; skew 0.95, Twist end 0.5, Profile Cut end 0.075,and however many rotations you want.

I'll try that too, thanks.
