Is streaming video to a specific file only possible?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't entirely sure where to put it. Is it possible to set a music or video stream to go to a specific file? IE: I have a .mov file or something I want to play but don't have the server set up to stream things. If it is possible, will it loop or just play once per click? Thanks!
