Beatfox Xevious offers a free Invisibility Prim at the Luskwood General Store in Lusk (144, 165) and at Dwellget in Taco (173, 210)

you can try this one (this is how i do it with my shoes all the time and never got any complains):
create a new script and place this code into it:

default
{
state_entry()
{
llSetTexture("38b86f85-2575-52a9-a531-23108d8da837", ALL_SIDES);
}
}

as soon as you save the script, the prim gets invisible and more happens: the very special texture adressed by the first parameter in the llSetTexture() not only turns the object invisible, but (when you look through it) also removes all surfaces which have an alpha channel. It especially removes avatar-skins. It seems like avatar skins always have an alpha channel, but don't ask me, why that is so. Well, however, this effect is used for shoes to remove the parts of the avatar foot, which otherwise would stick out of the shoe and make it look really ugly. You could let an entire avatar disappear, but you will notice some visible inconveniences along with this invisibility technique. ;-)

BTW The script above does not add to server side Lag!

There are rumours, that my script would not work, but till today nobody could tell me, that anything special is wrong with my approach. So i use it until i get better advice.

i hope that helps.

I had a friend who used invisiprims that were resizeable via a hud to open and close her skin to show the "works." It was a very cool effect.
