Hi all. I just joined a few days ago, bought a house and now I'm trying to paint the inside walls. I swear, I've been using computers for 12 years and on the net for 9 years, but these damn directions do not make sense. Can somebody spell out to me, or send me to a very basic web page, that explains very simply how to paint an interior wall ? I am so frustrated. Thank you for reading and helping me, in advance ! - Right click the wall and choose "Edit".
- Choose the "Select Texture" checkbox on the left hand side of the "Edit" window.
- Click the "More>>" button at the bottom right.
- Choose the "Texture" tab, just below the "More>>" button.
- Choose the texture and color from this tab, by clicking the boxes at the top of the tab and adjusting them to suit your needs.
Hope this helps!

Alternatively, if you just want to do ONE side of a prim, you can just drag the texture directly onto that particular side and you should just have the texture on that side.

There's no "Select Individual" Tab but "Select Texture" Checkbox in the upper half of the Edit tool window. You check the button and then click on the interior wall you want to paint.

I have a similar problem. I already know about the multiple textures on one prim thing, but I also heard about multiple colors on one prim as well. Can this be done without "prim torture" scripting? I've tried dragging colors with "Apply Now" turned off, but no go.

For a ridiculously complete treatment of how to texture objects in SL, I highly recommend the tutorial created by Robin Wood (Sojourner). Most of it is in-world at Benten (18, 99), with an accompanying page on the web. Her tutorial exhaustively covers all the parts of the edit interface that have to do with texturing, and she explains in great detail how to deal with the often bewildering issues involved in texturing oddly-shaped prims.

That's why I have been so confused.

There used, until 1.6 I think, maybe 1.5 be a select invidual tab - they replaced it with edit linked parts.

From: steve Mahfouz Mr. Zaius, I didn't mean to be disrespectful to you. I was just very frustrated. Thank you for your time. Hehe no problem, can be very frustrating when learning.. Especially when the help files haven't been updated *throws look at Lindens * Select individule was replaced with Edit Linked Parts.. This will let you select only one prim of a linked set to texture. But this will texture both the interior and exterior.. GL
