I am building a structure from scratch. All prims were created by me, I am listed as the owner and creator of everything. I have checked to see that there are no scripts in any objects, and all textures were uploaded by me and are in my inventory. Ok, so as I select around on the building I notice that some objects allow me to change the permissions for next owner, or set the item(s) for sale while others do not. I can select one single prim and it has permissions greyed out, then select an identical one right next to it and they are available. Some linked prims will allow me to change permissions, while some do not. I cannot find a pattern. Again, I'm the creator/owner of all the objects. Am I missing something? Do I need to do something strange like take them into my inventory then put them back? I've obviously overlooked something. The goal is to obviously set permissions so I can box things up and maybe eventually sell what I created.

Linked prims, you cannot change the permission on an individual prim, so make sure your "Edit selected prim" (or whatever the bottom radial button is at the top left of the edit menu) is not active, meaning there's no black dot inside the white circle.
Then, if you still have greyed out permissions, go to the 2nd tab of the edit menu. This is the one where you can change the prim from box to sphere, etc. In the upper lefthand corner under the tab, you should see "Locked" with a radial button ticked (that black dot thing again). Un-tick it.

Well, I just spent a while copying "working" prims and deleting prims that wouldn't let me edit them... I now have my building almost back to being able to edit all the parts. That was very odd. I wish I knew what caused it so it doesn't happen again. I guess next time I'll keep a watch on the prims as I build, not after.
