Ok, so Im following the tutorial in the SL wiki for blender for sculptie making, and I notice two things:
1. When I unwrap the cylander im working with...nothing really happens. The picture they show has it all laid out as a square..im not getting that.
2. (and this is the important one thats farking me right now) I need to make a new image to bake the textures onto..but even though it says "Image > New" right on the tutorial...I cant find it for the life of me!!
I dont know if 1 is going to be helpfull or not..but im pretty sure I need 2, since whenever I try to bake the textures, it says it cant find an image to bake onto. Help, please!

Make sure you are selecting the object while in UV face select mode before unwrapping
You need to understand and use the view and edit modes in Blender, on the bottom left there is a pull down menu by default shows a picture of a grid, switch to UV view a little triangle looking thing.
I find it's helpful to split the screen, one for grid view mode and one for UV view. Split screen by left clicking in one of the small spaces between windows (a little tricky to get at first). The inmage new is on the bottom of the UV view window.
You might wantto check out some of the blender tutorials (non-SL) it is a tool that has alot of options and ways to do things.. just a little intimidating until you figure out the keyboard shortcuts.
I have used the tutorials with alot of success! Good luck..

I will try and post some pictures........

Hiya Frosty! when you first upwrap the object, fill the uv map by scaling the uv big so it covers the square then under uv menu, 'clip the layout to image size'. If it still doesn't cover the UV window scale and grab several times untill the mesh fits. Once you get past this stage save a copy. this will become you future starting point for new models.
