I have a small gallery and I am adding a number of objects which contain simple scripts within them, mainly notecard givers. I am however concerned about adding to sim lag and am wondering what the situation is with regard to script lag. Is it specific scripts which add to lag, the amount of scripts, both, or some mistical secondlife force?

If the it's only a notecard giver, it's not adding to lag since it only acts when the object is touched. Other sort of scripts such as blink, avatar detectors, texture animators, particles, etc. do add to lag since they are constantly running.

From: Calveen Kline Other sort of scripts such as blink, avatar detectors, texture animators, particles, etc. do add to lag since they are constantly running. As to the last two (in bold), neither would significantly impact sim performance, since they involve client-side effects which need only be initiated by the server. However, gaudy particle displays can bog down a client's framerate, aside from just being annoying.
