a Building Guide?

Is there a tutorial or a guide on how to build houses, stores etc. etc?

I am partcularly wanting to know how to copy a wall, so that i can just paste to make a larger wall... i see you cant just stretch a square to the size you need..

i use drag-copy most often to copy

select your wall, then hold the shift key, grab one of the colored arrowheads and pull!

you actually pull the original prim and a new one is left in the original position

if you are rotating copies around the same point, it can be handing to drag-copy then hit ctrl-z, and the prim will remain but it will "undo" back to it's original position


as for building in general, the ivory tower was where i first learned my way. I also passed you a small tutorial i made a while ago but is still useful. There are notecard givers on the central pole and around the various rides of the merry go round.

As new to Sl (close to a year ago) I asked the same question(s)... and after many try-outs i visited Ivory tower - not once not twice.. many times! It took me days to look.. read.. try.. BUT it are a great place.,.

Drag and get a copy are uselfull but also the ”copy selection” You get a pefect copy of your firts prim connectted to the place you mark/point to... (Tks to Versu that told me that trick!)

What I learned after first building was to uses all numbers in edit.. I simply write in all parameters.. on EXAKT mesurements.. and start all kind of design/buildings/products at an EXAKT place.. as 22,500 or better 22.000 or simlar.. plus using notes.. No 22.231 in my things no way...

And last a GOOD LUCK.. its fun but takes a lot of time.. funny time!

That's a trick that uses the CREATE button in the EDIT window... select the prim you want to copy, click on CREATE, then click on the face of the prim... An exact copy of the prim will rez adjacent to the face/surface on which you clicked...
