I can only think of making a circular pattern in Paint! or Photoshop and dividing it it into 16 square images that can each be uploaded and applied to a 10x10m floor prims. Then you can make an edge wall to the arena using a series of straight pieces.

Sanctuary Rock has a nice circular pattern on the dancefloor that is applied as texture over several prims.

what you could do is use a Mega prim (say a 40x40x40 sphere) and torture it by dimpling it out to .490 and .510 then use that as your guideline and build on top of it (then delete the mega prim after)

I do also know there is a product you can buy that makes spheres out of prims.. so you could look for that.. dont remeber the name off hand

shapegen ... cost a buck

altho it makes its shapes out of flat prims so you either end up with a @$#* ton of prims or some boxy edges (think 1980's 3d graphics)

Shapegen to get basic shape and location of prims. Then modify prims with segments of large flattened cylinders.

I usually make a circle pattern on a texture, and set up a flat array of prims with the texture spread out over that surface, to make a "to scale" guideline. Use the repeats and offsets for the texture to make it spread across the whole surface.

If you search the forums, Chosen Few documented in a thread here the process for using cut, hollowed and flattened cylander sections to make large diameter circular walls. I used it to make a 20M diameter building with just 16 prims per circular section, and it looked quite smooth. The same method can make much larger ones.

Cadroe Murphy's ShapeGen is a great tool, but it is a bit prim heavy. Still, for some situations, it is the only way to go.
