Problem Rezzing a Megaprim

Ok! so bear with me, I know very little about building or megaprims, but I am very confused about something. I recently purchased a floating island (to be used as a sky platform) which is just 1 big megaprim. Whenever I try to rezz it anywhere, I get a message that says "you cannot create plants on this land." Does anyone know what this is about? cause it's not a plant at all.

In your inventory, does it look like a small stack of brown blocks as opposed to a single brown block? If so, your island is several objects grouped together (a "coalesced object";) and there might well be linden plants in there too. A single plain megaprim wouldn't make for much of an "island" anyway in my opinion, without some other stuff added to the mix.

If that turns out to be the case, I'm afraid you may be stuck - for some reason linden plants can ONLY be rezzed on land you actually own outright, not land you rent or otherwise have normal build rights on. It's weird and I don't understand why that is, but that's how it is.

That's sort of what I was afraid of. And yes, in my inventory it is a bunch of little blocks together. So do you happen to know, would I have to own mainland? or just any land?

if its your land that you own, you can pull out that item * Use the build button before you rez it so that if it is not in the proper location you can move it around with ease and all the little bits will be together.

If it is in a sand box... And a Linden plant is attached to this, No you cant rez it .
Or if it is on land that you don't own or have permissions to build on using Linden bendy trees or Linden grasses. (Not that anything is wrong with Linden Bendy trees..)

*the way around that is to allow your group to use these things* Not always allowed on a private sim. But Good Luck with this. I hope it all works out well for you.
