OK so ive seen some really awesome highly detailed belts around SL and i cant figure out how they are being made. i tried to make a really cute studded belt. so i figured id make it huge first so i could see what i was doing and easily move around the little parts. but then when i linked it all together and tried to make it small... it just stayed the size of a car :(

i tried looking for belt tutorials around google but no luck. anyone know how its done?

There's a way of making micro prims, but otherwise I think the shrinkage is always limited by the smallest prims used, so shrink the belt then add the studs perhaps.
And someone recently here was making sculpted belts too, as humans aren't round in the waist, <looks down at beergut> though maybe some are :)

When scaling down a link-set, it will only scale down to; when the smallest prim reaches the smallest size. i.e. The smallest prim in the link-set has reached 0.01 in any dimension.
It could be just one prim. Find it, unlink it and try again.

Either do the math before scaling or make at the smaller size.
Not difficult at all.

Zoom into your project normally then press Ctl + 0 to zoom right into it.
Ctl + 9 to restore
Ctl + 8 zooms out (to wide angle)
