How exactly do you use the bumpiness setting in the texture edit? I have tried it but can't see anything different when changing from the drop down. Thanks for your time.

Go into your graphics settings in preferences, and make sure bump & shine are turned on. If you've got a low end graphics card, the setting might not be available, but on most systems you can turn it on. You'll be amazed at how different (better) the world looks.

Amen CF...

My fave is the newer shading and lighting also...

I remember when a whole prim face took on the shadows, was messy.
