I realize there may be a very easy solution to this but I am new to building so please humor me :) How can i find the footprint size of property or the deminsions? I have found a house I like but am unsure it will fit properly. Thanks in advance for any help.. and try not to laugh to hard! ;)

Turn on the view menu option to see parcel boundries. Stand at each corner of your parcel, and note the coordinates at the top of your screen. You can do a little subtraction to calculate the length and width from those coordinates of the corners of your parcel.

I never was able to figure out how and couldn't get a hold of the sim owner to ask. All I could tell was the total sq m. Finally I put on my radar and had my partner stand at one end of the property line while I stood at the other. Radar told me how far he was and I had the answer.

I'm going to be very embarrassed if someone comes on here and gives a very obvious answer.

With property lines showing, put a cube at each corner of the parcel. Set the cubes so that their edges are flush with the property lines, all the way into the corners. This is important; they need to be flush with the lines, not centered over them.

Now, simply select all the cubes, and hold down ctrl-shift. The numbers at the top center of the screen will tell you the size of your selection, which also happens to be the size of the land.

I think it is with the latest Release Candidate build and definitely with the Nicholaz build that when Show Property lines is enabled, if you look at the lines you will see notches spaced every 4 meters. Take it away from there to calculate the footprint.

If you own the land the select property lines to see your borders and then select land in the edit menu, select the land with your mouse, hold left click down and count the yellow sqaures, each sqaure is 16 square metres.

I wished there was a keyboard shortcut to type the m with the little 2 instead of the full word.

If you don't own the land, you can still make a land selection. Then, you only need to count the little 4x4 square.
