Prims fitting over large bottom

Ok so i've been making a few outfits now for a bit and i can't seem too make the items fit over my large bottom. I like the way my avi looks so i don't want too change it but when i make clothing mainly silk prims the prim with go straight and run through my bottom and if i curve it slightly so it rests over my bottom it looks silly. Is there any other way too fix this issue without changing my shape?

Also i want too try to get my prim silks too not look so square like in the first image but float more like in the lower image. how would i do that?

They are flexi, if you have the mod rights then you can edit it prim by prim and enable a flexi path in the prims.

Furries can have a similar issue with prim tails, if the attachment point is angled wrong for them. The fix is to rotate the prims slightly. Think of a cat "raising its tail". How does the base of the tail rotate? Apply the same sort of rotation to the prim linkset., or if needed to individual prims, to adjust the fit over your bum.

all my silks are flexi that's not the issue, i just can't seem too get them too look right and they are completely straight not curved like the second image. I don't know how too get them too curve like that. I am very new too prims so alot stuff i don't still understand.

I think the trick would be to start with another type of prim..I'm not in world at the moment but I think cylindars might also go flexi? Anyway, start with a prim other than a box and hollow and use pathcut/profile cut and taper to get the shape you want. There is a great tool called prim finder which used to be free that you can find at Crystal Gadgets that can help you find shapes for your projects.

The curved part is easy ..... use cylidrical prim sections instead of cubes. Make a flattened cylinder with a moderately large radius, then cut away all but about 40% of it and give the rest a negative taper (so the pointy end is toward the ground). You can play around with the dimensions of the cylinder and with the taper to get a shape that's pleasing.

When you get that far, apply the flexi features. Unless you like clothes that fly away in a gentle breeze or stick way out behind you when you walk, keep the Wind setting faily low and the Gravity and Drag settings fairly high. Again, play with the various features until you get the effect you like. Your fabric piece will be upside-down if you have done it correctly, but that's OK. The flexi end of a new prim is always the end toward the ground. Just turn it right-side up and apply it to your clothing.

Now for the hard part .... Unfortunately a lot of prim clothing hangs wrong, so it hits you in the backside. Look around as you wander in SL. A LOT of women are wearing clothes that have this design problem. It's not easy to solve. Even if you think you have the problem licked after hours of careful fitting on a pose stand, you'll find that it comes back when your avatar changes poses, or starts dancing. You'll never beat it completely. :(

As Ceera suggests, you can address the problem a bit by rotating each prim outward, so that it tilts away from your waist. Take a look at the fancy ball gowns in SL. They're all pretty poofy, with prims that tilt out at the waist. That's why. A ball gown that hits you in the tail looks really bad. You can also try setting the waistline higher, so that prim pieces start near the curve at the small of your back instead of closer to your tail end. Take advantage of the shape of your avatar body instead of fighting it by hanging a skirt where it doesn't want to be. Adjusting the flexi features of your skirt may also help. If it's too stiff, or gravity is too high, the prims will pull down toward the ground too much, and will catch your backside.
