Any Thunderbirds fans want to build up a Tracy Island sim? We'll need a sim amongst other things, but it seems like a fun project to do. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/years/1992/toysclip.shtmlhttp://www.thunderbirdsonline.com/site/http://www.tracyislandchronicles.com/

*laughs* I have a HUGE collection of the original episodes on DVD, if you want to check details... And actually, Tracy Island is pretty much small enough to be done as a single sim!
Hummm. If we can figure out how to make it financially self-sustaining, I might be able to line up a sim owner for us. But only if we could make it cover its own expenses.
*starts thinking how to make each of the Thunderbirds vehicles as SL functioning vehicles.*

Might have a little trouble with the launch silo for Thunderbird One. It's mostly below sea level if you follow the original plans precicely. So it'll be flooded in SL.

Hiyas Ceera! I have no idea how to make a Tracy Island sim financially self-sustaining (Or any sim for that matter). Is there an International Rescue roleplay group? Maybe they might be interested. Otherwise you'd have to sell alot of Thunderbirds and International Rescue avatars to pay for the upkeep on the sim. Not to say that it couldn't be done that way, just that I have no confidence in anything that involves money. The actual Thunderbirds themselves could be either all-prim constructs with non-physical scripts or else low-prim builds with alpha-texture magic. I've seen some well-detailed airplanes that are little more than blocks with fancy alpha textures. Not much that could be done about the T-Bird 1 silo other than flooding it all the way up (actually building it a bit lower) and then installing as much lighting as possible to make up for the low visibility. And the bendy palms along the runway. Can't forget them!

But i think i got a nice solution for that Ive already found a nice site about the actual models which is http://www.martinbowersmodelworld.com/index.html

Taking a serious standpoint for a moment, the largest issue wouldn't be technical - it would be legal. Copyright issues. We would need written permission from BBC TV or whoever bought the rights for the recent movie, in order to actually replicate the Thunderbirds vehicles or base. Still, that isn't entirely an impossible task.
Let me see...

Contact Ryder Spearmann before you spend a lot of time on legwork for this project. I don't know where he is progress wise, but you might save yourself some time by contacting him. You would atleast find a fellow traveler Ham

Hiya... actually, no. Not illegal. I have a way around that. I've done the groundwork for a Tracy Island sim, and have a cost structure that would potentially pay for the sim. I've got at least a couple months into the project... and TBird 1 is built and partially scripted. It used to live above my home, engines roaring, but I brought it down recently because of the copy-bot. If there is anyone here that is interested in joining the project, feel free to contact me. Be sure to visit: http://tracyisland.org/invitation.htmBest regards, -Ryder- From: Ceera Murakami Taking a serious standpoint for a moment, the largest issue wouldn't be technical - it would be legal.
