Hi, I'm new to SL and i just started with trying to build things. I've been to the Ivory Tower, and completed most of the lessons, and I'm able to build simple objects and apply textures. But I still have difficulties about organic shapes, and the more advanced features and options within the Build tool (sry , i don't know exactly how to call it). I would like to know if anyone knows about intermediate and advanced building tutorials, and/or a manual explaining all the features of the tool? Thank you in advance :)

I spent quite a long time learning what was possible before I had a 'vocabulary' of shapes sufficient enough to express myself. Almost.

There is no end to it, really. Perhaps there is no intermediate tutorial, and one must simply 'play'.

Serendipity is also a powerful thing. Rather than trying to force prims to your will, sometimes it's just fun to see where they take you.

Lastly - I would say that textures, not prims, are the really difficult area of study.

Factors like 'photorealistic' -vs- 'cartoonish'. Too much of either and suddenly a brilliant creation (on its own terms) simply doesn't "fit" with surroundings.

Classic two dimensional art skills like painting or drawing seem to be the common characteristic of designers I personally hold in high regard. It is also the area where I personally struggle to improve the most.

Edit: Heh, I lost your main point in all that! If you have any questions about any building feature, I'm sure someone would be willing to answer it here in these forums.
