hi all

i am quite new to SL but i am learning more and more everyday. I have question i need some info on, i have tried searching these forums but cant find anything.

I got a freebie house from some junkyard and when erected it was only about 20 prims in total. i noticed that the walls where made of a hollow box, but what i dont understand is, how do you get a brick texture on the outside and a wallpaper on the inside?

could this be two different hollow boxes? one slightly smaller than the other? or is there a way of having two different textures on one prim?

any help would be appreciated.

They really need to make this more obvious. So many people miss it in the beginning. On the editor window, see the radio button that says "Select Texture"? When it's turned on, you can click on individual surfaces to select them for independent texturing.

Hi Herbert :) Yes, you can have a different texture for each side of a prim (all hollow sides, though, are regarded as one side). To do this, just click and drag the texture from your inventory to the side of the prim. Alternatively, you can use the Select Texture option in the Edit window. Click Select Texture, click the side of the prim (or Shift+click multiple sides), click the Texture thumbnail, then select a texture from the inventory list. Good luck!
