I see people saying new here how do i do this and that . Well i guess I'm really new I'm still trying to figure out how to link objects. I can put a box around them to move them as one or change them or TAKE them but when i rez the new object each will still move seperatley unless in edit mode and each is highlited again. So how does one make it so it cant be seperated. Ive bought multi prim objets and cant seperate them so is it just the no modify thing and does that mean only OTHER people trying to seperate my multi prim obcject cant or am i not REALLY linking them.

Thanks for your help

Select the prims you want to link, then go to "Tools" and select "Link".

This will link the prims together.

Right click one of the objects you want to click and choose edit. Then hold shift and click all the remaining objects you want to link. Then go into the tools menu, up top, and choose "Link". Make sure "Edit Linked Parts" is NOT checked.

Hi,

This may be overkill, but the Tools menu is at the very top of the screen.

I mention this because it took me forever to find stuff up there. I guess that somehow my previous experiences elsewhere had conditioned me to just not see that space ...

Anyway ... just one more hint on linking. The last prim you select in a set is the one that becomes the root. If you plan which prim will be the root, things like placing and rotating your new object later can be simpler.

Also, you can add to a link set by selecting the new piece, then the linkset. If you do it in that order, the new linkset will still have the same root it used to.

And, welcome to Second Life :)
