Hi, I rent a homestead sim and so have to be very careful of my prims. I build most of my own things and keep the prims low. I have seen things like trees and huge clumps of flowers and things like that that are only one one or two prims. Can anyone help me by advising me how to make those? I can make sculpties but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how, for example, I can get say, nine 3D trees in one prim sulptie. I have watched them rezz on other sims, they seem to have only one or two prims but im bamboozled by it. Any help on how to do it would be greatfully received.
Many thanks

This is a movie explaining, how you can make multiple "separated objects" out of one sculpty: http://blog.machinimatrix.org/2009/08/14/2-in-1-multiple-objects-with-one-single-sculpty/I am working with blender, but the tutorial should give you a basic understanding how to do it in principle. I know there are many other vide-tutorials for other tools out in the web. So chances are good that you can find something specially made for your own tool... edit: Just a reminder: Use oblongs for your purpose. Take a 8*512 sculptmap (4*256 faces) as starting point, then cut it into pieces as shown in the video above... I think, you can make up to 16 trees with reasonable LOD-behaviour using that technique...
