Buying land WITH terraform options on

I'm new and poor. I just want a 512 m2 plot. But I want the fun of terraforming the plot a little. Maybe up or down a meter or two in places. Is my desire reasonable? None of the land I see so far has the terraform option checked as enabled. Do owners not want to give the option or are they unable to? Are they worried that I'll spoil the land? +/- 4m doesn't seem like much. Can I agree in covenant not to exceed =/- 2m? Can anyone convince me that I'm not missing anything by not being able to terraform?

So much to learn...

You will allways be able to terraform your land if you on the mainland. The terraform option only applied to others.

On private islands it depends on the estate settings, but, if allowed, you might be able to terraform to +/- 100 M.

Edit: Shameless plug: Because I sell terraforming bobcat bulldozers, I have opened up a couple of parcels for public terraforming on the South East corner of Explorers Rangeland. Anyone is welcome! The limit is 17 M above original level!

That solves a lot of problems as I hoped to buy on the mainland.

I'm not sure that my 512 m2 purchase will warrant the acquisition of one of your bobcats. But I will stop by and window shop and try a dozer.

Thanks,

Land on the mainland can never be terraformed more than +/- 4 meters from it's original position. It really isn't very much.

I am pretty sure that unless you own an island (where it's possible to terraform up to +/- 100m), you will never need the "bulldozer". Unless I totally misunderstand the use of them, which is totally possible.

Thanks!

Actually, I would do very little terraforming. I would only like to make a small fish/carp pond at the base of a 1m high x 2m diameter waterfall garden. Or maybe a 1x1 sandbox. Or a sunken spa.

I just hate to spend $ or L$ and not have the ability to terraform.

Thank you again,

There are a few very old mainland sims with larger terraforming limits. You're not likely to ever see any of that land for sale though, at least not at a reasonable price.
