I just read a message from my new neighbor. He contacted me and said, "look me up next time youre in Mindulle. Ive done some building in front of you, would love to be neighborly and make sure it works for you."
I wanted to reply to him (and I must say I wish everyone were as considerate as this guy was) and to share my opinion:
Dear Cosimo,
It's downright thoughtful and neighborly of you to contact me about your building next to my plot. I wish more people here had such fine manners.
About your construction: correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you've got quite a bit of building going on nearby, in addition to that which is adjacent to my land.
I have to be honest: some of your buildings are nice-looking, but the ones right by my property look like cookie-cutter condos. I reckon it's because that's what they are. I don't like having a building right up against the property line like you've done, but on the other hand I see that the shape of that parcel won't allow for much else and perhaps you've had to be creative as it is.
So here's what I have to say: it was good of you to contact me at all. If I had a say, I wish you could make those condos a little prettier. I prefer art deco, futuristic/minimalistic, log cabin-style, Queen Anne, you get the idea. But it's not my property, it's yours, bought and paid for, to build on as you see fit.
Since you asked, I felt it was only right to tell you what I really thought, and I hope I haven't caused any hard feelings. I'm genuinely pleased to have a neighbor who would go to the trouble of asking my opinion in this matter.
Please allow me to welcome you to Mindulle. My treehouse is always open for visitors (just touch the door to get an open-button). Stop by whenever - it's not fancy (the treehouse itself, which I love, used up a lot of prims) but it's home.
By the way: when I bought this parcel it was my first land purchase. I made a mistake when I bought in PG territory - I had wanted something rated "mature" but moved too fast when this came up for sale. Anyway, I've been looking for something in the 512sqm size in a mature region, but it can be expensive. If you have something you might be interested in trading, you now know what I'd like. I like my land, but it has no sentimental value...
See you in SL,
iota Fenua
