Ok, here's the problem: I rezzed an object in world (on my own land). It is a very small object, and it's putting out a green fire (particle system stuff).

The problem is that it's invisible. I use the about land option to reveal its location and zoomed in very closely. I still couldn't right click on it.

I even created an object of comparable size, and edited the x y z co-ordinates until they were together. I have its exact position noted.

The object is a half-sphere, slightly stretched into an oval shape. The dimensions are .03 for both x and y, and .05 for the z (as I recall).

The creator of this thing shows as (nobody). I assume that means it is a cancelled account.

Can anyone help? Is there any way to select just this one object on my land and return it to my inventory?

There is just plain NO WAY to right click on it. Is it some sort of old object, perhaps, that isn't totally compatible?

I don't know. I'm totally stumped and I have a green fire on the floor of my house that I can't put out. Help!

Use a different object and get the build/edit window open. Leave that window open and draw/drag a selection window around the offending object. Should select it.

Can it be selected by drawing a yellow selection box (while in edit mode) around it?

You can right click on something else, go to EDIT, then click and drag a yellow box - see if you can get it that way.

If you do, and you have more than one thing in your box, you can de-select individual objects by holding shift and clicking on what you don't want included.

I have seen "partially instantiated" objects that are collidable, unselectable, and un-renderable. The only way to get rid of them was to have a kind liaison reboot the sim.

This isn't exactly like what you describe but a creator of "nobody" usually indicates a "ghost" of a prim. If none of the other suggestions work, it should go away when the 1.9 server upgrade happens if not sooner. Good luck.

Yes! Now I know how that yellow box works!

A fast rez, a select, and hit the delete... it's gone!

Thanks a million for the fast (and accurate and easy and....oohhhh for letting me get to sleep tonight ;) response!
