Hi, I am very new to this. I was wandering if anyone can advise if there is a type of prefab house/cabin that will self assemble to save the hassel of building. Any advice will be appretiated. If there is no such product then do you have info on the easiest yet attractive home to start with?
many Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to bump into you around sl one day.

Hi, Crocky.

Welcome to SL.

There are plenty of free houses in SL, but you will find that you must own land to set one up in anything resembling permanent fashion.

To own land, you must be a premium member (If you pay for a year in advance, US$72, the nit comes to US$6/month), and then you must buy land.

The rates for land fluctuate quite a bit around here, but fortunately, there is a program called "First Land" whereby accounts that have never owned land before can purchase land specially set aside for the FL program at L$1/sq m. That's an amazing price, since most land goes for anywhere from ~L$3.50/sq m all the way up to ~L$20.00/sq m or even higher for well developed commercial land. If all you are looking for is some place to put you rhouse, though, a small FL plot should be fine.

All FL plots are the same size - 512 sq m. To find one, use the "Find" function on you r nav bar, then select the land sales tab. Set you rsearch parameters to "First Land" and go look at several plots. Assuming you are a Premium member and have never owned land before, you will be able to buy the available plot of your choice.

Before buying, though, I highly recommend attending Lisse Livingston's land class. You can find it in "Events" tab of the "Find" function, under education.

Lisse, if you are reading here... when is your next class?

Good luck and perhaps we will meet inworld. If you have any questions, please feel free to IM me. I am usually available to meet new friends.

Hi Crocky, Welcome

It looks like you are asking about prefab homes. There are tons out there in SL. Go to FIND and do a search for "prefab" and you'll see a lot of stores to explore.

One I can recommend for a new member would be "After Dark". They are one drop and very inexpensive. A good place to start.

Good luck and enjoy.

Look for Yadni's Junkyard..... I've got a whole heap of useful free stuff from there.

Not to advertise myself...but...well...I'm advertising myself:

NDE (search for Nilsson Development Enterprises) has 6 different prefab homes for sale that fit perfectly on a 512 lot with prims to spare.

You can check them all out at the store. They're on clearance at the moment...(gettin' ready for a new round of homes).
