Well, this is one of those "I thought it would be easy" issues. I wanted to create a mirror image of a sculpt along the Y axis. So, I opened Zbrush, clicked on "Mirror" and *poof*. Then I exported it using 2k's Sculpty exporter. But in SecondLife, it looks like this (not sure if it is obvious, but basically the sculpt looks "inside out", a bit like that effect with texturing only the inside of a sphere): Two questions: How do you mirror a sculpted prim? And can I use the mirror transformation in Zbrush, and if so, how do I ensure the object stays in exportable format?

you'll need to invert the colors in PS and then flip horizontal

Unfortunately, that's right. Flipping a sculpt map horizontally will cause it to be inside out.
As said above, invert the colours in photoshop(Or whatever program you want), and then flip it.
Should work just fine then, but I haven't attempted that myself so.. I'm honestly only abot 99.9% sure =P

Looks like it worked in the SculptySpace preview (Lord, I love that program).
Thank you!

Just a horizontal flip should suffice.
Maybe...

No, I tried that (without inverting), but it turned inside out I don't understand why it doesn't work when I simply mirror in Zbrush--after all, one is simply creating a flipped Zbrush tool, THEN exporting it as an object. If it is a nice object (with the proper number of vertices, of course), it seems to me it ought make a nice sculptmap, too.

Sorry, I meant whenever your sculpty is inside out then you should flip the sculpty map horizontally. I don't think you need to invert it too. The problem is caused by the direction of the vertices and whether they run left to right or right to left. So when you flip the object the direction of the vertices is reversed. When LL fix lossless sculpties I may make a new version of my convertor and have it take care of the flipping problem. Ha! I said *flipping* problem. God I'm funny

When I take a sculpt from program to program I will often have to "flip" the sculpt map but I have always used invert.

Well I've never inverted a sculpt map in my entire life. and I've been making sculpties since I was this big <------>
But now I'm beginning to wonder if I'm missing out something.
* Shuffles off to invert a sculpt map *

BTW:
In ZBrush I always set eFlipX and eSwitchYZ in preferences.
I leave eFlipY and eFlipZ unset.
Maybe this is where we differ.
